A man was arrested today (June 15) after he was found in possession of several counterfeit Viagra pills and a fake pill for erectile dysfunction tablets.
The police officers in the case were notified by a man who is suspected to be the man of the investigation.
He was arrested at the home of Mr Hong, who lives in a residential building in Hsulai, at about 4:20pm on the day when the case was being investigated.
Mr Hong was arrested on charges of possessing counterfeit Viagra tablets and distributing them in violation of Section 7.2 of the Food and Drugs Act. The tablets were discovered to contain the counterfeit doses of sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction.
It was alleged that the fake pills were being taken in the belief that they were sold illegally to a group of people who then bought it illegally.
